“Being in the moment “ is a frequently used phrase that applies well to this point in Arie’s life journey. Her energy is limited now that she’s only able to be alert and active for a very few hours a day. She chose to spend that energy by insisting she be taken to Austin’s basketball games both Friday and Saturday. While at the game she enjoyed being out with her Mom and favorite teacher, watching Austin play and her dad coach. She giggled as she raced Addison down the hall with dad pushing her wheelchair. And on that same day she dozed for hours on the couch, ate a few teaspoons of food and had trouble holding her head up. Joy and sorrow, grief and delight, despair and laughter all tangled up together.
